Job description

The scope for a Special Engineering / Exterior Engineer consists of:

Integration of yacht equipment and EXT doors with other disciplines and integrating them seamlessly into the EXT design
Integration of shaftline and rudder systems
Develop deck, ceiling, teak and railing arrangements
Developing local arrangement such as EXT furniture, EXT stairs, EXT pillar, EXT masts, EXT sun awnings

Of course, you don't do this alone!

  • To develop arrangements, you receive input from a designer / suppliers, which must be assessed for feasibility and manufacturability.

For this you have a lot of contact with Lead/senior engineers, production departments and suppliers.

  • For integration work, you have close contact with engineers and senior engineers from other engineering disciplines. In the position of engineer you are directly managed by a Senior engineer.

Requirements

The ideal candidate has an secondary vocational education/Bachelor degree working and thinking level. You have relevant work experience in a preferably similar position in yacht building. Consider experience of projects from 30 meters. You also have the following professional knowledge and/or qualities:

  • Making mechanical engineering drawings for assemblies and mono parts
  • Knowledge of high-quality materials and finishing levels
  • Aware of and able to work with schedules and deadlines
  • Can create hour estimates / own task lists for feedback to the senior engineer regarding status and progress
  • Weight estimates
  • Knowledge of production techniques and experience with manufacturability of parts to be engineered is important.

Preference is given to someone who has a good command of the Dutch or English language. And you are familiar with the following software:

  • NX (Pre)
  • solid Edge/Solidworks (Pre)
  • Team center
  • AutoCad
  • MS office

Moreover, you are not unfamiliar with regulations such as LROS, REG YC A/B and SOLAS.
