For the realisation of our luxury yachts, we work on far-reaching collaborations with our suppliers and our client focuses on cooperation in the chain. As a buyer, you are a proactive initiator within the projects and the teams involved. Together with the procurement team, you focus on setting up a procurement plan for various projects. You also monitor the purchasing budget at project level. You coordinate and initiate connections with the right parties in the market at an early stage. You conclude and manage contracts to ensure that production is optimally served. Important in this process is to guarantee delivery times and the delivered quality and quantity.
By keeping in close contact with the market, you not only maintain your preferred suppliers, you also keep abreast of the latest developments. Naturally, you are a good and honest negotiator and you oversee the consequences of your choices further up the chain.
In addition, you are a pioneer with a strong sense of project and process control. You have a critical eye that you use to concretise the objectives for the Purchasing team every year. You have an important role in the realisation of these objectives. We therefore present you with challenging issues. You will provide solicited and unsolicited advice in various areas within the supply chain, varying from building a purchasing strategy to taking the initiative in optimising both purchasing and organisational processes.
In addition, the activities consist of:
- Managing the relationship with existing suppliers by recording, monitoring and evaluating the delivery performance on quality and quantity;
- Sourcing, auditing, qualifying and contracting (new) Dutch or foreign suppliers;
- Managing and recording the information flows concerning purchase administration and contacts with suppliers in, among other things, the ERP system;
- Initiating, optimising and recording both procurement and organisation procedures and ensuring that these are followed;
- Supporting the General Manager Procurement & Supply Chain in managing the team.
Requirements
You have experience in project-based work. You have self-management skills and know how to motivate your colleagues. In addition, you stand firm in your shoes when the pressure increases. An HBO education in the field of technical business administration, logistics management and/or a technical education supplemented with commercial experience will get you a long way. We also ask;
- Nevi 1, preferably Nevi 2;
- + 5 years of experience in a similar position;
- You are proactive, have good communication skills, are flexible and can work independently;
- Good command of the Dutch and English languages;
- Extensive knowledge and experience with ERP systems;
- You have the necessary experience with Windows packages (especially Excel).

Company profile
No design is the same and no yacht is the same at our client. In the segment of luxury super yachts, they are known for their many applications of the aluminium hull. You will be working in the Procurement & Supply Chain department, which is responsible for implementing the procurement policy. Within your responsibilities as Team Leader, where you manage 3 colleagues, the guidance and coaching is in the field of knowledge, attitude and behaviour. Whereby you offer direct support to the General Manager Procurement & Supply Chain on the road to the core values: reliability, customer-oriented, quality, knowledge, teamwork and ownership.
